Bringing health, happiness & wellbeing into every space we design.
We spend nearly 19 hours a day in our homes, making every part of our living space vital to our health and happiness (IPA TouchPoints, 2023). Research from UK housing studies shows that poor housing conditions contribute significantly to chronic health problems, while small yet thoughtful improvements such as increased daylight, ventilation, adaptable layouts, access to green space, and good air quality can reduce stress, improve sleep, aid recovery, and boost overall wellbeing (English Housing Survey, 2023; UK-GBC, 2017). Good design goes beyond the absence of illness—it fosters social connections, supports family life, and nurtures psychological as well as physical wellbeing.
At Studio Blak Architecture, we are dedicated to continuously learning how design influences wellbeing, sharing our knowledge through blogs and conversations, and applying evidence-based strategies to craft homes that bring health, happiness, and lasting wellbeing to every space we design.
